“Innalilah wainalilah rojihun (From God we came; Unto him we shall return). We were in the mosque when the incident happened. We start hearing gunshots; I was almost killed. Someone close to me sustained injury. We don’t know what they wanted, but people were saying they wanted to kill our Sariki here. I pray God to take control,” he said.

Confirming the incident, Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Magago Musa Majia, said “although the attack was repelled by the police on guard at the mosque premises, three people, however, lost their lives, while about 12 others suffered varying degree of injuries”.
