Rivers politics: “I have the keys to the Rivers State House of Assembly” – Factional Speaker

The Honorable member representing Ogu-Bolo Constituency in the Rivers State House of Assembly, Evans Bipi has said he remains the only lawmaker who has the key to the hallowed chamber of the Rivers State House of Assembly.

Honorable Bipi made this known during a programme organized by the Grassroot Development Initiative, GDI, in Rivers State.

He said he would soon open the doors of the Assembly which had been under lock and key for several months following a fight that broke out on the floor of the Assembly in July.

Bipi, however, noted that only those he would approve of would gain entrance into the chamber.

“I have the keys to the Rivers Assembly. It is only when I open it that you will enter. If I don’t open, forget it. You will see, very soon, I will open and enter. Nobody will enter”, he boasted.

Bipi said he was a better mad man than the Governor of Rivers State, Rotimi Amaechi but that he was able to control his madness due to a wealth of advisers around him unlike in the camp of the Governor.

According to him, “one thing we will take home is that, I am a better mad man than Amaechi, it’s just that I have good advisers who are advising me. He does not have good advisers”.

The honorable member also alleged that the rest of the assembly members who were not at the meeting in Okrika were those who had already been suspended by the Obuah led PDP in the State.

“The entire Rivers State House of Assembly is here. Those who are not here are the suspended ones”, he said.

Reacting to an earlier comment made by the Governor, Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi, that he was not stoned in Okrika during the burial of the mother of the first lady, Charity Oba, Bipi said there was no such intention to get the Governor stoned.

“He said he danced in Okrika for the fact that he was not stoned. We did not intend to stone him. We had the opportunity to stone him but we said No. Who is Amaechi?”
