FG declares October 1 public holiday

The Federal Government has declared Tuesday, October 1, 2013 as public holiday to mark Nigeria’s 53rd independence anniversary.

Minister of Interior, Abba Moro made the announcement on Monday in Abuja.

While congratulating all Nigerians at home and abroad, he urged them to build a more united and virile nation that would be the pride of all Nigerians wherever they live.

Moro enjoined all Nigerians to use the holiday period to reflect on the growth of the country, especially under the transformation leadership of President Goodluck Jonathan.

The Minister on behalf of the national government wishes all Nigerians a happy Independence holiday celebration.
