Shettima receives most enviromental-friendly Governor award

Borno State Governor, Alhaji Kashim Shettima has received an award of the most environmental friendly governor from the National Productivity Centre.

Presenting the award to the Governor on Friday, the commissioner for Enviroment, Alhaji Hassan Aminami said the award which was given to Borno State on the 15th August, 2013 was in recognition of the state’s effort in fighting desertification and deforestation in the state.

In a speech, Governor Shettima said the award should not only be dedicated to him, but also to all staff of the ministry and all those who contributed in giving the government the right advice which informed the nomination for the award.

He said government would continue to work towards ensuring environmental friendly state by planting 5000 economic trees, which would not only prevent desertification and deforestation but also a source of earning for the benefit of the people of the state.
