Arsenal close to signing Romanian striker Ciprian Marica

Arsene Wenger is set to add Romanian international Ciprian Marica, to his attacking line up.

Although the Gunners are still focused on completing a deal for Luis Suarez, they are still keen to add numbers upfront, especially with the departures of Gervinho, Chamakh, etc.

27-year-old Marica will arrive the Emirates as a free agent like Yaya Sanogo, after he was released by Schalke this summer.

“It is close to Arsenal, we’ll see this week,” Giovani Becali, Marica’s agent, is quoted by Romanian newspaper, Libertatea.

“Marica is a good striker, a Romanian international and has experienced great football in the West. It is normal for him to be targeted by big clubs.”
