Former Benue Deputy governor, Ogiri Ajene to be buried today

The remains of the late Deputy Governor of Benue State Prince Ogiri Ajene will be committed to mother earth at his country home, Adum East in Obi Local Government today, Saturday, May 11.

According to information made available to DailyPost by the Benue State Commissioner for Information, Justin Amase, there was a Christian wake at his family compound in Kwararafa quarters Makurdi, May 10.

A valedictory ceremony was also held in his honour at Government House Makurdi, after which body left for Adum East in Obi Local Government where another Christian wake keep was held.

On Saturday, May 11 is funeral Service and Final Internment at the Family compound in Obi Local Government.

Dr Ajene passed away on April 19 in a hospital in London.

The remains of Prince Ogiri Ajene arrived Makurdi, the Benue state capital on April 28 where hundreds of sympathizers including family members and political associates converged at the Agan tollgate on Makurdi-Lafia expressway to receive the corpse which arrived at about 11am and was officially handed over to the head of the Ajene family, Prof. Oga Ajene and taken to the Air Force Base hospital’s mortuary.
