Nyako’s Chief of Staff to oversee Ministry of Information
The dejected Governor Murtala Nyako’s chief of staff,Abdur rahman Abba Jimeta was rhetorically appointed as Adamawa state new ‘’commissioner’’ of information, despite the earlier rejection by the state lawmakers.
Following his rejection by the members of the state House of Assembly,Nyako appointed Abdur Rahman Abba Jimeta as his new chief of staff.
But in what could be described as rhetorical commissioner appointment, governor Nyako directed the chief to oversee the ministry of information.
A statement by Nyako’s chief press secretary Mallam Maijama’a Adamu said that the directive is with immediate effect, ’’His excellency , governor Murtala Nyako has directed that the chief of staff Alh.Abdurrahman Abba Jimeta should oversee the affairs of the state ministry of information with immediate effect,’’ it said.
The newly sworn in commissioners have been assigned portfolios and those assigned include Barr. Ibrahim Tahir, Justice; Engr.Umaru Atiku, Works; Abdurrahman Shu’aibu, Lands and Survey; Mr. Felix Tangwami, Social Development and Integration; Mr Gabriel Hamman Adama, Education; Ahmed Gorko, Commerce and Industry; Aminu Iyawa, Rural Infrastructure and Community Development; Hamza Bello , Border Integration and Development; Mrs Jummai Philip Windibiziri , Housing and Urban Development and Dr Drambi Ngidda and Higher Education and Technology.
Other are Tijjani Maksha, Livestock Production; Umaru Muhammad Gabdo,Chieftaincy Affairs; Mrs Lilian Steven , Health; Dr Salihu Bakari Girei, Local Government Affairs; Barr. Salihu Hayatu Zumo, Special Duties; Ahmed Philip Butuwa, Culture and Tourism; Sajoh Gella, Water Resources; Haj.Halima Muhammad, Women Affairs; Magret Nzombato, Youth and Sports; Ibrahim Buba Vokna, Finance and Budget, Mustapha Barkindo,Mineral Resources;Mrs Lucy Ishaku,Agriculture;Mrs Talatu
