Boko Haram to declare 3-month truce

Nigeria would soon experience breath of freedom from bombings and killings by the Boko Haram sect otherwise known as Jama’atu Ahlus Sunnati Lidda’awati Wal Jihad as a deal is being fashioned out for a three-month armistice by the Islamist sect.
“Boko Haram wants the release of arrested members as a condition for ceasefire. Then discussions will follow,” a source had said.
This decision came following the negotiation between the group leader Abubakar Shekau and top government functionaries with the aides of two prominent clerics and some traditional rulers.
Close insiders revealed that if the 3-month truce works out, then discussions on ending the whole campaign of violence will start but not until its members in prisons are released.
 “BH (Boko Haram) has mentioned a conditional ceasefire but it wants all its members released from prison. The government sees this as unacceptable but is willing to release foot soldiers.” Reuters source had said.
Another source revealed: “The leaders are afraid that they could be arrested once they come out for direct talks. The major hurdle is to win their confidence that nothing will befall them if they show their faces.”
