A group known as Ose Democracy Fighters in ose local government area of Ondo State today urged the State Governor, Dr. Olusegun Mimiko to remove caretaker chairman of Ose Local Government, Mr Afolabi Mabogunje over alleged misappropriation of funds.
The group in a release signed by its chairman, Mr . Babatunde Akerele and made available to journalists in Akure, alleged Mabogunje to have mismanaged Over N100 million meant for the award of contracts in the area during December period.
Akerele, accused Mr. Mabogunje of spending council’s fund on frivolities, stressing that he has not been insensitivity to the plights of the people livingin the council.
According to him, the council has tired of the failure of the council boss to put in place projects that have direct impact on the lives of the people of the area.
Apart from this, Akerele alleged Mabogunje of using his political thugs to torment people of the area.
The statement reads,” We are tired of the council chairman’s lack of vision to move the council forward. Since he came on board, he has been spending council money injudiciously.
“He has been busy awarding juicy contracts to his girl friends at the detriment of loyal party supporters who are committed to the development of the council”
Besides, Akerele accused the council chairman of neglecting youths of the council without providing job opportunities for them in the council, stressing,” We are completely disturbed about the chairman’s non challant attitude towards creation of jobs for the teeming youths who live in the community. We are not surprised that the Chairman is not sensitive to our plights because he does not stay with the people.
“This is a man who spends most of his time in Akure whereas his people are living in Ose. Such person will not have good knowledge of the problems the people of the council are facing”.

Akerele however urged the anti graft agencies to beam its searchlight into the reckless spending of the chairman.
