Imagine at least 4 months to compute… What are they doing there? What reforms if you do not have a basic data like money paid out for subsidy? What were they calculating then? Fraud.!!!.. Again she said NNPC is not involved in importation of petroleum. The Custom guy showed written evidence of NNPC importing petrol even in December 2011 and also importing crude oil even when Nigeria is exporting 2.5m barrels/day…You guys still ask for evidence of fraud. I am tired

I don’t know why everybody is raining curses. Madueke schooled in US and worked in Shell top management for several years. Her family is rich, her husband’s family is rich, she is the Oil Minister and she has friends in high places. My MD at work is not even a politician but his children fly in private jets and have taken pics with music stars. Does that mean he is stealing Nigerian money? Does this mean only poor people are allowed to serve in Govt? Because I’m a minister, do I have to suddenly change my lifestyle? For me to have anything against Madueke, I like to see information here that she bought the private jet using taxpayer’s money, then I’m at war – else, please let her enjoy her Shell money.

Yemitula, u make a lot of sense. However i may want to disagree with u slightly in the sense that a huge chunk of these money being bandied about by Deziani did indeed come from govt directly thru her or the hubby Rear Admiral Allison Madueke.
1, Chief Agama Deziani’s father is not stupendously rich as u may want me to believe. He is just an average Upper class Man in the Nigerian Contest.
2, Rear Admiral Madueke made a lot of money as Military Governor like others of his ilk. How much would a military officer earn as salary for 35yrs service that would justify this extravagant life style.
3, Deziani worked in Shell for a long time agreed. How come other top executive management staff of Shell and other Oil Majors did not amass such wealth. is it that they are not so paid like deziani. We have people like Basil Omiyi current MD of shell, Olumide Onakoya first Nigerian MD of an Oil Major who was MD of Mobil also MD of Mobil in Gabon. He worked for Mobil for over 25yrs and does not own a private jet, so also basil omiyi. Not Even Henry Omenai, the first Black/Nigerian Executive Director of shell was that rich. Incidentally Henry Omenai was Daisy Danjuma’s first husband.
4, Deziani exports crude oil using two companies run by his broda as fronts. This company without previous history got a $50m facility from a first generation bank after just one month of incorporation. Habaaa. Even if we see only the puppet, we know the puppeteer is behind the scene. lol.

I don’t have issues with Deziani and his hubby, neither am i interested in how they spend their money. My take is that you don’t come into such volume of wealth as a result of Working as an employee. naaaaa. For your info my dear friend, the cheapest Private jet (brand New) u can find in the market is $17m with a maintenance overhead of about N82m annually. Whick kain work person wan work wey he/she go see dat kain money. Abeg tell me make i go apply.

  Yemitula, please before you post anything here or elsewhere, go through them to see how logical they are. the Maduekes were enjoying in a private Jet and other fun places. But it does not say or show that they own the private Jet. For your info, you do not have to spend $20,000.00 to fly in a private jet. I paid just $250.00 to celebrate in a cruise ship or boat for 3hrs. You can do these things and more with little money. Nigerians and others who work for the multinationals like shell get rewarded well. Rewards might include paid vacations that include birthdays in private jet or a boat ride. Please shut up! Allow a very good woman who has reformed the sector to allow nigerians participate in that to a level unseen since independence. The industry majors for the first time fear a minister bacause she knows them inside out and would not allow them to continue business as usual. Just appreciate and applaude her.

The comment in my own opinion is in support of Madueke; and I agree with the comment that pictures do not make you a thief/rogue. We need more proofs of her using taxpayers’ money for herself. I do not agree with you 100% though because the “reformed the sector” is questionable. What is reformed about the sector and which sector if I may ask? – Oil sector? To see a reform in that sector, how existing refineries should increase their capacity of production. Removal of subsidy doesn’t remove/reform the corruption in the oil sector, it just transfers who is paying for the fraud/subsidy from the government to the people/masses that struggle to eat… I have nothing against her (Madueke), but I am yet to see any reform she has done/started… My 2 cents

Over the years, different programs have been in place to allow Nigerians participate in the Industry: the Indigenous Concession Programme (under Rilwan Lukman), the Marginal Field Programme (of 2001) and discretionary allocations which have been made constantly through out the years from 1990 – do not give credit for these things to whom it is not due.
    
    Secondly, the present spate of participation you see has arisen as a result of a combination of the Nigerian Content Act (which had already been in the works from the year 2003 when it was 1st drafted), the Oil and Gas Bid Rounds of 2005, 2006 and 2007, under Daukoru (who imposed a Local Content Vehicle (and as such Nigerian equity participation) percentage in all Production Sharing Contracts where foreigners and oil majors bid for the first time) and the under the Ministry of Ajumogobia, who scrutinized foreign oil and gas contracts closely to ensure that Nigerians were taken on board oil and gas contracts. The Department of Petroleum Resources ahs also played a great role from the year 2006 to ensure that expatriate work is reduced in the industry. So YOU don’t know what you are talking about….all these happened WAAAYYYY BEFORE Deiziani became Minister.

    I am surprised and quite ashamed at how people can be so oblivious to the truth when its so spoken and real. I dont care what the maduekes may have. All i know is if you give birth to a child today and pay the child $1000 every month and tell the child to be feeding itself and doin other tins from the money and keep increasing the salary according to trend of things, that child will not build a house and if that child does, it will be thru struggles and savings. What would you now say of somehow who gave birth to kids, sent them to skul, bought cloths and so on and can afford a private jet. Have you guys been told that the easiest way to make money is go to the military and you have job security for the rest of your life, get paid well and pray no war happens, then we keep sending you to one course or the other. this is no respect to military officers, just pointing the obvious. When he was a military govt, we dere come out and complain then. I know a ceo of a company and the organisation has a private jet and for flying it within the country and sub-region, he incures debt of $500,000 cos you buy fuel, pay tax, pay for pilot and hostess and so on and its true cos i see the finace sheet of the organisation. Shell and co is not a charity organisation even if they pay very well. Lets call a spade a spade and please with all due respect , dont call a monkey a dog for me. Also for those waiting and looking for tax payers money record, you cant find it cos there is no record and this is Nigeria where there is paddy paddy and like fela said, arranging government dey. Where dere are records, sudden fire engulf buildings and do you also know that the FOI bill passed is juat a farce. try go looking for info on money spent in NASS and see if you wont get arrested. As someone said, I could get my own collection like this, would that make me corrupt? Let’s get enough proof and get her out of office if she’s really a thief, but if not, don’t just nail her for nothing.   Sonubi. @ people criticizing because they are not in their shoes, I think you should speak for yourself. You probably would do the same were you in power but there is a growing breed of Nigerians (if you had attended some of the protests last week you would have identified some of them) who are tired of the corruption that has plagued this country for many years and are saying “No MORE”. The problem with a lot of Nigerians is their tolerance for suffering/mediocrity. Unfortunately we also operate in a system where corruption is systemic and there are no checks and balances so that where corruption happens, noone gets punished. Fundamentally, the whole system needs to change to make this stick but it is important to start with you and focus on yourself alone. I for one am not a dishonest person and I dont believe in bribery ( as a recipient/giver) and yes it doesnt matter how long LASTMA/the police may waste my time. For this reason, I dont drive recklessly, or use my phone while driving or beat traffic lights etc so that I am not put in that position in the 1st place. This is just an example and I can go on and on. Its a personal prinicple but it forms the foundation of my being. I can not imagine and would be foolish to think that I am the only one such person out of 160+ million Nigerians. But essentially its all about principles and we need more people with principles in power, in public offices, in corporate organisations etc. We also need people who are less willing to accept corruption as a fact of Nigerian life as that is what is killiing this country every day.

This is the reason Nigeria remains in its current state. A situation where people keep saying leave them alone to spend their money. Do u even have an idea how many people are deprived of basic things of life such as food due to this excessive amassing of wealth? Dieziani and her husband might come from rich backgrounds, fact remains that she was an employee. Yemitula, while your points are reasonable, I would ask that we please not soften the issue here. You know if she was a performing Minister no one here would be so antagonistic! I personally have a problem with a Newspaper (or whatever this is) posting such a story without a source and without due care to the respect of privacy. At the end of the day, it is unsafe for her children to be attacked in such a malicious and public manner when it is she herself that should come under the microscope. I would hate for anything to happen to them as a result of this.

That being said, all the history you have written about her history of wealth does not hold water when compared to the blatant corruption she is being accused of. She could have had all the money in the world before she became a Minister, but let me ask you (and every other person who has supported her here) some questions):

Can you point to ONE thing that she achieved as Minister of Transport (the Ore road where she cried on on National Television is still very bad – people die there every day), Minister of Mines and Steel and even as Minister of Petroleum? What outstanding performance did she manifest to keep getting Ministerial positions where the Ministries did not move forward following her occupation of the offices, while her private business or former wealth (as you all like to think it is) increased tremendously from fantastic business acumen or family investment brilliance?

I have no issues with her children enjoying life to the fullest (I frankly do not see a big deal in the pictures – children will always try to live life to the nines where they can afford it); but how is it that no one can clearly defend how her wealth (or that of her family’s) has increased so tremendously with the advent of her political appointments (not many people get 3 chances to be a good Minister) and how it is that her Ministries (particularly Petroleum) have been so porous and infiltrated with fraudsters under her skillful and watchful eyes?

Over N750 Billion has disappeared from the Govt. coffers from fraudulent subsidy receipts (under her Ministry) and it took an order from the President for her to KNOW that she should investigate it??? Please read the Petroleum Act and see what wide powers the Minister has in ALL sectors of petroleum before you start exonerating her from corruption and defending her wealth where it is obvious that she is inept in her duties (or that they clearly over whelm her), while her personal overwhelming wealth is properly being managed and efficiently increases from generation (her father/husband whatever) to generation.

Lets even leave her wealth aside – I have no issues with her being rich and would even applaud her for being so wise with investments; but please face the main issues – has she been an efficient Minister in any of the Ministries? Three times over? Should we not be investigating her and any other Minister whose Ministry has not been efficient? She can have all the money in the world and you can defend it all you wish, but HAS SHE BEEN AN EFFICIENT MINISTER? Has she left ANY legacy of good governance and has the Nations wealth increased as a result of her fantastic ADMINISTRATION in Government? Has corruption REDUCED as a result of her administration?! Has there been a clear and significant reduction in Government spending in the Petroleum Sector? Defend these and we will whip any one accusing her of corruption (even with proof) and send them to bed!

Has anyone questioned Bill Gate’s money (and even he had a corruption case I hear); Richard Branson? Warren Buffet? It is clear and on record HOW their wealth was created and HOW they made the wealth increase. It is not shrouded in the mystery of old money and political appointments. There is a salary for Shell executives (and we women are proud that she was the 1st female Executive Director); there is also remuneration for Ministers and Military Officers. People are saying that ALL that money put together, cannot account for the wealth this woman actually has.

If she can increase her wealth, then the Nation had no business being defrauded so badly in her Ministry, under her watchful eyes.

That is all I’m going to say.

  The fact is that in Nigeria, every aspect of life, both in bussines and in government are controlled by if you like by groups of cabals. The NUJ, NLC, ASUU, the hospitals, construction, telecomunication, oil and gas. Government at all level have the cabals that help them in, so therefor control every contract they sign and every appointment you make.
  
  For example, the oil cabal helps you get into government, the gov. must appoint their person in sensitive post in the oil department and if the gov. refuses, religious or ethnic killings or something to make the guy in gov understand what they want will start somewhere.
  
  Any atempt by anybody for good or bad to remove any of their people or go back on agrrement will be resisted.
  
  The bottom line is they want Jonathan out because he stopped playing ball and if that cant happen because we have a more professional military that wont buy there coup plots, then he must be kept in check so as not to spoil bussiness till the next election.     Let’s do some simple arithmetic here, the Madueke’s, both husband and wife working as civil servants and earning salaries would never in their wildest dreams afford all these luxuries, schooling their children in high profiles schools abroad, flying first class cabins all over the world, living in highbrow white areas abroad, and holidaying in exquisite resorts anywhere in the world.
    Our problems as Nigerians to call “A Spade a spade” is what has contributed to killing our soccer for example, Onec the African giants, but now reduced next to nothing, all because we’ve not been able to say the simple word of truth.

    I’ve read most of the commentaries posted on this web-sites, and I’m very appalled at the commentaries of most of my countrymen. If a child steals, you don’t call it another name other than stealing, Much as Nigeria is a very rich nation, it’s stunning to find kids of Nigerians living big abroad, yet Nigeria is classified as allow income earning poor country, this is unjust unfair and a big time slap on the face of ever Nigerians.
    Every Nigerian would like to send their kids abroad to study, every Nigeria would like to fly on a private jet, every Nigerian would like to ride on a Limo, I guess no Nigerian would like to live and feed on less than two dollars a day.
    Clearly, the Maduakes robbed and stole Nigeria blind, and this is coming to an end, as there’d no more be such thing a Nigeria in no distance future. Poverty has turned an average Nigerian girl into prostitution, which was exactly what happened to the Ghanaians in the 70′s when they came migrating to Nigeria to avoid hash economic turbulence. This is the same thing happening to our girls and boys back home without no hope, no job, no food neither any expectation of what tomorrow might bring for them, yet here we have the Maduakes on spending spree, while some heartless commentators absolved them of wrong doing while others claimed their parents were from very rich families right from the start which I really beg to disagree.
    The Maduekes can never claim to have been more richer than the Ojukwu’s family, neither the Ransome-kuti’s family who’s kids went to school in the UK, and all of them humbly came back to Nigeria to fight for the common down trodden and oppressed Nigerian, hence it’s a big time fallacy for anyone to recognize the humilities of the Madueke’s family.
    I’m a son of a secondary school principal in Nigeria, and my father has produced lots of doctors, engineers and lawyers, even Senators in the past decades, what did the Federal government gave my father in return, late paltry pension which is hardly enough to buy him simple medication, not to talk of feeding, what I’m trying to say here is that, as much as Nigeria is such a blessed and rich nation, the country’s wealth only goes to the few in power which is morally wrong, it’s called stealing, which calls for a penalty. Nigeria’s state of affair has reached a stage that there’s turning back, Nigeria’s days is numbered, now if the country breaks up, which i fervently prays happens soon, would it be easy for public funds for example in the State of Biafra, or Odua State be tampered with by some cabals who might see it as their birth-right to rig elections and rule for as long as they want, I guess not !
    With all these pictures of the Maduakes shown here, I’m convinced beyond reasonable doubts that their parents stole from the people of Nigeria, easy money comes, easy money goes, I’m an old school, and hence i don’t mince words calling a spade a spade, be it as it may, Mrs. Madueke being a minister of energy powers and steel will one day die by the sword for sending so many young Nigerian’s souls into abject poverty and penury, her salary would never have permitted her sending her kids to luxurious Colleges in the US or the UK, her per annual salary wouldn’t have afforded her kids and kins to embark on spending spree, Why with so much money from her purported rich family couldn’t she send her kids to study in Unilag, OAU, UI, Namdi Azikwe University e.t.c.
    Pity Boko Haram are targeting innocent souls in Nigeria ,they should have gone for people like the Maduakes, and most other corrupt politicians in Nigeria today.

In a country where over 90% is living in shambles, especially now due to the global downturn in the average citizen’ standard of living, you would think our leaders will keep a little lower profile, fly 1st class, curb a little even if you made the money legitimately. We are a nation of humble culture, it is taught to most of us that flaunting and showing off or any form of extravagance will be frowned upon, why now? Why make the people you represent resent you? No one is suggesting that they shouldn’t spend on their children but most of us are aware of the global problems at the moment. As for how the Madueke’s earned their money, no one will probably ever know but if we have to investigate the minister, his wife and the entire clan, i’ll bet we find a whole lot that does not belong to them in their possession. Ill gotten wealth in Nigeria or anywhere else for that matter can, and usually is stolen from its cictizens. They truth will catch up one day.

  Yea, I agree that they should maintain a low profile even if they are so wealthy. But I need to point out here:
  1. Our african/nigerian culture promotes flaunting of wealth – our birthdays, burials, weddings and other ceremonies attest to it. Even people who don’t have money flaunt, let alone those who actually have it.
  2. These pictures could have been taken years ago, probably even before she became minister/before Nigeria entered this austere situation, so we can’t judge her based on the current circumstances

    1 quick point @ Yemitula, Diezani was not in senior management in Shell for many years. She worked in Shell for a good number of years but not at senior management level. She was in Senior management for about 4 years. I know this because I worked for Shell and based on the level at which she left the company, there is nothing to justify these pictures as well as the other skeletons in her closet attributable to Shell (during and after her working life).
    
    Btw, these pictures could not have been taken years ago, she worked for Shell for at least 15 years and went into ministry thereafter. I have already made my point about her status in shell.
    
    Secondly, we have an obligation to dig out her private life for a simple reason. She is a public servant of this country. I pay taxes in this country as well as a lot of the other people here so that means I pay her salary and she is accountable to me and every citizen of Nigeria. So when there are discrepancies in the amount of the subsidy as a result of either her negligence in awarding licenses to fraudulent marketers or outright deliberate actions to divert funds to herself & diamonds) its my/our business. Moreso when she/her family is living in excessive splendour whilst imposing the removal of a fictitious subsidy which is going to worsen the cost of living of the already suffering masses by over 100%. We need to ask questions and not be shy of asking questions as it is only then that we will begin to instil the accountability that needs to be associated with being in public office.

Just did a bit of detective work. The plane belongs to Camac aviation, which is owned by Kase Lawal who is a Texas based Nigerian oilman with interests in Nigeria. This is a conflict of interest. Same thing that caused a defense secretary in he UK to resign very recently. Nigerians be the judge.

I don’t know what to say about the “conflict of interest” issue, personally, i feel the fact that am oil minister does not mean my friend can no longer do oil biz in Nigeria. I can even assist him, as long as he can go through all the normal processes and scale through good for him. E.g. u are working in a company, does that mean you friend must not apply? infact if there’s a vacancy, am sure that u will be quick to alert your friend – as long as he goes through the normal recruitment process. The conflict of interest is not her friend doing oil business; it is in the fact that she should not be on his Jet otherwise she would be seen as receiving a bribe under various international and local anti-corruption laws – so as a Minister, she ought to know better. Her “friend” can do oil business, but under Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (where her friend is based) it is not allowed to give a Government official a gift, a ride, anything, above the value of US 100 (or so). That was the point Just Another Nigerian was saying.
  
  Do not forget that his 1st point was that it is NOT her jet; so in that regard, he was actually exonerating her from the accusation.

Before anyone start raining insult on Diezani Agama ( now Diezani Alison-Madueke) they should first and foremost take a glance at her biography. He father HRH Fred Abiye Agama was the most richest man in Epie/Atissa kingdom in Bayelsa State, he worked with SPDC (Shell) for several years, Diezani on her part worked with Shell for several years too and even rose to the position of Executive Director (making her the first woman in Nigeria to become an Executive Director in SPDC). She is married to former Chief of Naval Staff, Real Admiral Alison Madueke. So she being the Petroleum Minister is only icing the cake. If her wealth is genuinely gotten,why can she come and invest in Nigeria, build a small refinery and create jobs for citizens or even build and equip hospitals to cater for the less priviledged, pregnant women and children for free. She can very easily afford this at no cost. While there is something quirky about this story, the old pics and the reluctance of the Daily Post to write the name of the author, several past controversies trail our Honorable Minister. Between 26th and 27th December, 2007, as transport minister, she paid out 30.9 billion naira. she was probed by the Senate but nothing ever came out of the probe as she was never tried or charged. In 2009, she was indicted by the Senate, again, for the transfer of 1.2 billion naira into a private account of a toll company without due process and was not not charged. Now, foreign newspapers are publishing her purported purchase of a 20 million Euro mansion in Vienna and no one is batting an eyelid, except the masses. With all these stories trailing her, shouldn’t a searchlight be beamed on her activities? As the ED of Shell, how much was her salary? Does/Did she have some private businesses that we do not know about? We see the children of the Abiolas and other rich people and they are not living ostentatious lifestyles. And to those claiming that he was holding $20 bills, in a country that 70% of the citizens live under $2 a day, that is some major cash.

Let’s do some simple arithmetic here, the Madueke’s, both husband and wife working as civil servants and earning salaries would never in their wildest dreams afford all these luxuries, schooling their children in high profiles schools abroad, flying first class cabins all over the world, living in highbrow white areas abroad, and holidaying in exquisite resorts anywhere in the world.
Our problems as Nigerians to call “A Spade a spade” is what has contributed to killing our soccer for example, Onec the African giants, but now reduced next to nothing, all because we’ve not been able to say the simple word of truth.
The Maduekes are one of those who pillaged Nigeria’s economy, The Abiola’s kids never showed off, same as kids of the Awolowo’s, Dr. Namdi Azikiwe, just to mention but a little.
I’ve read most of the commentaries posted on this web-sites, and I’m very appalled at the commentaries of most of my countrymen. If a child steals, you don’t call it another name other than stealing, Much as Nigeria is a very rich nation, it’s stunning to find kids of Nigerians living big abroad, yet Nigeria is classified as allow income earning poor country, this is unjust unfair and a big time slap on the face of ever Nigerians.
Every Nigerian would like to send their kids abroad to study, every Nigeria would like to fly on a private jet, every Nigerian would like to ride on a Limo, I guess no Nigerian would like to live and feed on less than two dollars a day.
Clearly, the Maduakes robbed and stole Nigeria blind, and this is coming to an end, as there’d no more be such thing a Nigeria in no distance future. Poverty has turned an average Nigerian girl into prostitution, which was exactly what happened to the Ghanaians in the 70′s when they came migrating to Nigeria to avoid hash economic turbulence. This is the same thing happening to our girls and boys back home without no hope, no job, no food neither any expectation of what tomorrow might bring for them, yet here we have the Maduakes on spending spree, while some heartless commentators absolved them of wrong doing while others claimed their parents were from very rich families right from the start which I really beg to disagree.
The Maduekes can never claim to have been more richer than the Ojukwu’s family, neither the Ransome-kuti’s family who’s kids went to school in the UK, and all of them humbly came back to Nigeria to fight for the common down trodden and oppressed Nigerian, hence it’s a big time fallacy for anyone to recognize the humilities of the Madueke’s family.
I’m a son of a secondary school principal in Nigeria, and my father has produced lots of doctors, engineers and lawyers, even Senators in the past decades, what did the Federal government gave my father in return, late paltry pension which is hardly enough to buy him simple medication, not to talk of feeding, what I’m trying to say here is that, as much as Nigeria is such a blessed and rich nation, the country’s wealth only goes to the few in power which is morally wrong, it’s called stealing, which calls for a penalty. Nigeria’s state of affair has reached a stage that there’s turning back, Nigeria’s days is numbered, now if the country breaks up, which i fervently prays happens soon, would it be easy for public funds for example in the State of Biafra, or Odua State be tampered with by some cabals who might see it as their birth-right to rig elections and rule for as long as they want, I guess not !
With all these pictures of the Maduakes shown here, I’m convinced beyond reasonable doubts that their parents stole from the people of Nigeria, easy money comes, easy money goes, I’m an old school, and hence i don’t mince words calling a spade a spade, be it as it may, Mrs. Madueke being a minister of energy powers and steel will one day die by the sword for sending so many young Nigerian’s souls into abject poverty and penury, her salary would never have permitted her sending her kids to luxurious Colleges in the US or the UK, her per annual salary wouldn’t have afforded her kids and kins to embark on spending spree, Why with so much money from her purported rich family couldn’t she send her kids to study in Unilag, OAU, UI, Namdi Azikwe University e.t.c.
Pity Boko Haram are targeting innocent souls in Nigeria ,they should have gone for people like the Maduakes, and most other corrupt politicians in Nigeria today.

If he will listen this is the time to reorganize his team. Some people making comments here clearly belong to the aspirational ‘our own time go come, make we reach there we go chop our own’. They also probably believe that oligarchs like Otedola, Dangote and co are enjoying ‘God’s blessings’. This type of thinking has resulted in the get-rich-quick-at-any-cost mindset that is so prevalent among young Nigerians today. One thing I’m glad about is the fact that those people seem to be in the minority, at least in this forum. Imagine a classic whodunnit murder mystery. The butler (who is the chief suspect for a variety of reasons – has motive, has made threats etc) is seen on CCTV footage walking to the room where the victim was killed, at the exact time the murder took place. The camera follows him to the door but unfortunately there is no camera in the room. The footage resumes with the butler walking out of the room while wiping a knife suspected to be the murder weapon. Imagine the jury ruling that because the footage stopped briefly we can exonerate the butler? That’s how many of the comments here come across.It is already well known from her prior records that Madueke is very very likely to be corrupt. These pictures (and others) only give an indication of the lavish and ostentatious of herself and her family – they may not necessarily prove that she is corrupt, but on the other hand the ridiculously inane explanations given for how she obtained her wealth really grate at the nerves.

As someone who works in the oil and gas industry i can say that her compentence is in doubt. Infact she does not command professional respect from NNPC & DPR staff. Last year when the company secretary of NNPC who is a professor challenged her, she had her sacked. She is definetely overwhelmed. As for corruption the rot in NNPC is unbelievable and she most share some of the blame as chairperson of NNPC board. Furthermore, she made some changes in the directorate in charge of crude oil marketing, yet the corruption continued. She if she was genuinely cleaning house, there will have been improvement. Alas it is business as usual as theft of crude on paper, lifting contracts are far from transparent. For your information the report by KPMG on audit of NNPC was out since November 2010, yet to my knowlege no one in NNPC top management was sacked. She is definetely part of the problem.

Yemitula, you are part of the misleaders. Citing that she schooled and worked top management positions in Shell USA does not qualify one for the exotic lifestyles immediately after. Go ask other nigerians in the US that have schooled and have better well-paying positions for several years if their children are able to afford such luxury. Even for well-paid employed people, the system provides enough to be comfortable but not superrich to own private jets and the kids live in insane luxury. Let us look at this issue from another angle. With this kind of wealth, these people can help a whole university. How many scholarship have they awarded. If the father is that rich, how many people has he helped in his Kingdom. I know few of them are super rich in that region but so many of their subjects are poor. Let’s do some simple arithmetic here, the Madueke’s, both husband and wife working as civil servants and earning salaries would never in their wildest dreams afford all these luxuries, schooling their children in high profiles schools abroad, flying first class cabins all over the world, living in highbrow white areas abroad, and holidaying in exquisite resorts anywhere in the world.
Our problems as Nigerians to call “A Spade a spade” is what has contributed to killing our soccer for example, Onec the African giants, but now reduced next to nothing, all because we’ve not been able to say the simple word of truth.
The Maduekes are one of those who pillaged Nigeria’s economy, The Abiola’s kids never showed off, same as kids of the Awolowo’s, Dr. Namdi Azikiwe, just to mention but a little.
I’ve read most of the commentaries posted on this web-sites, and I’m very appalled at the commentaries of most of my countrymen. If a child steals, you don’t call it another name other than stealing, Much as Nigeria is a very rich nation, it’s stunning to find kids of Nigerians living big abroad, yet Nigeria is classified as allow income earning poor country, this is unjust unfair and a big time slap on the face of ever Nigerians.
Every Nigerian would like to send their kids abroad to study, every Nigeria would like to fly on a private jet, every Nigerian would like to ride on a Limo, I guess no Nigerian would like to live and feed on less than two dollars a day.
Clearly, the Maduakes robbed and stole Nigeria blind, and this is coming to an end, as there’d no more be such thing a Nigeria in no distance future. Poverty has turned an average Nigerian girl into prostitution, which was exactly what happened to the Ghanaians in the 70′s when they came migrating to Nigeria to avoid hash economic turbulence. This is the same thing happening to our girls and boys back home without no hope, no job, no food neither any expectation of what tomorrow might bring for them, yet here we have the Maduakes on spending spree, while some heartless commentators absolved them of wrong doing while others claimed their parents were from very rich families right from the start which I really beg to disagree.
The Maduekes can never claim to have been more richer than the Ojukwu’s family, neither the Ransome-kuti’s family who’s kids went to school in the UK, and all of them humbly came back to Nigeria to fight for the common down trodden and oppressed Nigerian, hence it’s a big time fallacy for anyone to recognize the humilities of the Madueke’s family.
I’m a son of a secondary school principal in Nigeria, and my father has produced lots of doctors, engineers and lawyers, even Senators in the past decades, what did the Federal government gave my father in return, late paltry pension which is hardly enough to buy him simple medication, not to talk of feeding, what I’m trying to say here is that, as much as Nigeria is such a blessed and rich nation, the country’s wealth only goes to the few in power which is morally wrong, it’s called stealing, which calls for a penalty. Nigeria’s state of affair has reached a stage that there’s turning back, Nigeria’s days is numbered, now if the country breaks up, which i fervently prays happens soon, would it be easy for public funds for example in the State of Biafra, or Odua State be tampered with by some cabals who might see it as their birth-right to rig elections and rule for as long as they want, I guess not !
With all these pictures of the Maduakes shown here, I’m convinced beyond reasonable doubts that their parents stole from the people of Nigeria, easy money comes, easy money goes, I’m an old school, and hence i don’t mince words calling a spade a spade, be it as it may, Mrs. Madueke being a minister of energy powers and steel will one day die by the sword for sending so many young Nigerian’s souls into abject poverty and penury, her salary would never have permitted her sending her kids to luxurious Colleges in the US or the UK, her per annual salary wouldn’t have afforded her kids and kins to embark on spending spree, Why with so much money from her purported rich family couldn’t she send her kids to study in Unilag, OAU, UI, Namdi Azikwe University e.t.c.
Pity Boko Haram are targeting innocent souls in Nigeria ,they should have gone for people like the Maduakes, and most other corrupt politicians in Nigeria today.
Nigeria is what it is today because of the Maduekes, Nigeria is dead, Nigeria is no more sick but dead, all we’re waiting for is it’s burial, and may the souls of all departed Nigerians never knew no rest until the people like the Maduakes are lowered into their shallow graves, for they’ve killed and sent so many into their early graves with the so much they’ve robbed and stolen from the people of a country once called Nigeria.
